We Stand in the Gap
For Those Who Held the Line

Battleworn Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity that fully funds military veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders to attend the Convergence Program in Montana.

The Men We Refuse to Leave Behind

Trent McMurtrey founded Battleworn Foundation after years of serving military men, walking with families under pressure, and seeing the hidden cost carried by those who serve. His background serving in the Marine Corps, as an Army officer, military chaplain, and entrepreneur gives him a unique understanding of warriors, leadership, logistics, and spiritual formation.

Through Battleworn Foundation, Trent’s work is focused on building a Christ-centered path of restoration, brotherhood, and accountability for military veterans, active-duty service members, first responders, and their families.

“I have seen the cost of service up close. I have prayed over caskets, stood with grieving families, and watched strong men carry wounds no one else could see. Battleworn Foundation is my response to that burden: to stand in the gap, cover the cost, and help these men walk back toward Christ, brotherhood, and home.”

—What We Believe—

Strength in humility, not self-ascension.

Christ is Lord, even of the man you became overseas.

There is no part of his life that he gets to keep off the table. Not the trauma. Not the rage. Not the pride that kept him alive on patrol. Convergence is the altar where it all comes down.

Battle Brothers, not self-appointed kings.

We are not in the business of crowning men. There is one King. The men who attend Convergence leave convicted, humble, and steadfast. The authentic brotherhood that follows is anchored in the cross not man.

The family is the front line.

A man who is right with God is a husband who comes home, a father who shows up, a brother who answers the phone. We measure the work in the rooms he walks back into.

—Our Structure—

Battleworn Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity. We raise funds from individuals, families, churches, businesses, and other foundations to fully cover the cost of Convergence for qualified military veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders.

LEADERSHIP

Trent McMurtrey

FOUNDER

Trent McMurtrey serves as Owner and Founder of Battleworn Legacy and Battleworn Foundation with a clear understanding: this mission cannot be carried alone. He knows he needs strong, God-fearing men around him – men willing to lock arms, speak truth, and stand firm with him. Scripture is clear that the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, and Trent believes that kind of opposition requires more than vision. It requires covering, accountability, wisdom, and men who are not afraid to confront what is false, weak, or out of alignment.
